Denver Water Goes Live on Time and on Budget
Third time is a charm - After years of struggles to implement a new CIS, Denver Water goes live with Oracle’s Customer Care and Billing (CC&B) system.
ATLANTA, GA – September 16, 2009 – Five Point Partners, LLC, a provider of management consulting and technical services in advanced metering infrastructure, business intelligence, and customer care and billing for regulated and deregulated utilities, today announced that its client, the Denver Water Board, went live with CC&B on time and on budget.
Denver Water, which had two previous projects fail to deliver a new system, contracted with TMG Consulting (which was acquired by Five Point Partners in February, 2009) beginning in September 2006 to provide consulting services for the selection of a new system. That extensive process resulted in the selection of the Oracle CC&B system being implemented by BearingPoint and with Wipro providing SOA integration with other Denver Water systems. At that time Denver Water extended the contract with TMG to provide monthly Quality Assurance and project oversight during the 18 month implementation period.
Gary Weseloh, Vice President of Five Point Partners and the QA Manager for the Denver Water CIS project, reports that “There are many reasons for the success of this project, but foremost was the level of involvement by the Denver Water Executive sponsors and their desire to place quality as a top priority. While the project timeline and budget were always high priorities, the executive team realized that quality of the project could not be compromised. This is an excellent example of how a project can be on time and on budget while achieving the core business goals of improved efficiency, expanded capabilities, as well as better customer communication and service levels.”
“We chose TMG Consulting (A Five Point Partners Company) due to the strength of their proven methodology and their extensive knowledge of the utility industry. We were able to develop an excellent working relationship with them from the very beginning and they became an integral part of the management of this project,” said Chris Dermody, CIO of Denver Water.
