Welcome to the Five Point Partners Blog!

This blog is designed to encourage interaction between Five Point Partners (FPP), particularly its Strategy, Research & Advisory (SRA) division, and the utility industry at large, including electric, natural gas and water utilities and the vendors who serve them.  SRA is a separate division of FPP commissioned to provide continuous state-of-the-art research and reporting on the industry, as well as targeted advice to SRA clients.  Our means of accomplishing the goals include surveys, interviews and other forms of primary and secondary research.  These results then are provided to the industry in reports, in-person sessions and other means with both vendors and utilities.  SRA's work is separate from FPP's consulting divisions and client confidentiality and our objectivity are protected by a Chinese Firewall between divisions.

SRA conducts targeted research projects for vendors and utilities, offers white paper and webcast development, provides expert advice to business leaders and assists clients on an annual contract basis through its Executive Program.  See another section of this website for more details about our Executive Program which includes all of our annual reports, one free webcast, eight hours per month of direct access to our analysts, and other benefits at one low annual cost.

The SRA division is directed by Warren B. Causey and Bart Thielbar.  Causey is a well-known analyst and writer in the industry and has been working with utilities and their vendors for nearly 20 years.  He has more than 35 years of experience working with cutting-edge technologies. Thielbar is a former utility CIO, former chair of the Edison Electric Institute/American Gas Association Technology Advisory Council, and has been working as an analyst since 2009.  Both are frequent speakers at industry conferences and events across the country.
